Lately 004

1. Granola 2. Amazing veg 3. Chickpea and spinach
4. Quick sketches 5. Our adopted cat 6.  Catching some rays, finally
7. After a long day 8. Highly recommend this book (Shadow of the Wind) 9. And another of our frequent visitors

Just a few snaps from my instagram over the last couple of weeks. I haven't been instagramming that much because, honestly, life isn't all that interesting at the moment. My boyfriend comes to visit next week so I'll be out and about a bit more. Until then, I'm just killing time.
I would highly highly reccommend the book that I'm reading however. It's called Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. I had read it in English and thought I would give reading it in the original Spanish a go. I was stuck into it from day one and it's part one of a series of 4 books. It's mystery, it's romance and it's beautifully written.

Hope you guys are having a nice weekend!
Try the book if you get bored!

Boux Avenue Review

boux avenue
boux avenue

Boux Avenue is a new lingerie venture from Theo Paphitis (Dragon's Den) who used to be a major shareholder in La Senza, who went into administration and were bought out by a new company a while ago.
La Senza used to be one of my favourite places for bras and importantly, swimwear. DD+ swimwear is incredibly elusive to find. However, the La Senza website is STILL under constructions so when I herd of Boux Avenue, I quickly checked it out.

And I have to say I'm quite impressed. Not only do they cater to the DD+ market, their customer service is also great. The bikini top was too small so I sent it back- postage paid- for an exchange in the next size up. Unfortunately, they rang me to say they didn't have that size in stock- it was a Sale item so wouldn't be getting more in. A quick phone call later, I spoke to a lovely English girl who quickly sorted me out with a tankini in the right size instead. And the delivery is *amazing* Both times I was told by email that they had been dispatched, they arrived the morning the next day! Got to love quick delivery!
As you can see, the packaging is really cute and the extra effort has been put in, including fake flower petals but overall gives it a delicate feminine touch. They've also a adopted a less formal, chatty attitude that we see with some companies nowadays such as Innocent Smoothies.

Just a quick review but I had to say something because I was so impressed with them.
I believe they're planning to roll out a few stores in the UK so keep an eye out for them.

Hauling

Collection 2000 Collection
Eco Brushes Concealer Brush
Zara Bag
Topshop Peplum Top
Topshop T-Shirt
Topshop Bandage Skirt
River Island Ruched Maxi Skirt

As promised these are the things I picked up on my little shopping trip. I want more cosy jumpers and cardigans in the shops now but I'm looking forward to styling all of these particularly the maxi skirt which is the perfect winter colour. I love the ruching and it has a split to the tight but with a pair of wooly tights and boots, it'll be perfect.
I'm also really happy with the peplum top. I wasn't sure it would suit my figure and when I tried it on, I wasn't sure but I then found it the Tall section and it fit like a glove! Chuffed. Also pleased with the bag, was really cheap at £20. I'm really picky with bags- they have to be just right and ideally big enough to fit an A4 notebook in so I can use it at uni. I might get a few more holes punched into the strap so I can lengthen it a bit. Most shoe repair places will do it for free.

Anyway, I hope you guys like.
Look out for them appearing in OOTD's soon.

Outfit Of The Day - And It Was All Yellow

Dress- AX Paris in New Look
Jacket- H&M
Bag- River Island
Shoes- New Look

So today I had the rare occasion of having a day off and some spare cash in my bank account. Yay payday! So I trotted off into Brighton for a bit of much needed retail therapy and naturally ended up buying nothing that I needed but stuff that just caught my eye.
I'm particularly underwhelmed with the stuff in the shops at the moment. It's probably because I'm eagerly waiting the A/W 12 collections to hit the stores. So I thought I would wear this little yellow dress while a had the chance.

I will be posting a haul soon.
Probably tomorrow so keep your eyes out!

What's In My Bag Tag

River Island Purse. University ID card. Old train tickets. Pens- one courtesy of Barclays. Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara. Sunglasses. Natural Collection Rose Bud Lipstick. Aloe Vera Vaseline. MAC Select Sheer Foundation. Inhaler. Ipod. Dove Deodorant.

I've been meaning to do this post for absolutely ages. The nosey side of me loves the What's in my bag tag- to see the necessities everyone carries around with them. I picked up my bag from River Island a while back now so a few of the studs have fallen off. I don't like too small bags because it's handy being able to chuck a few things into it if you need to. Even still, I tend to keep mine light when I can. When I'm at uni, there's enough space for my planner and a A5 notebook. And an umbrella. But mine broke in a spectacular fashion in the wind the other day, so RIP umbrella. Does anyone else get through umbrellas ridiculously quickly or is that just me? I either lose or break them within in a year....

I *finally* get paid tomorrow. So I need to pay the rent and then hopefully pick myself up some little treats. Maybe take a ride into Brighton for it. I've been trawling the shops online looking for the perfect new bag and I'm hoping Zara will rise to the challenge but I'm really picky when it comes to bags.

Anyways, it's another grey miserable day in the UK so I'm mooching around all day
Hope you guys have a good day too :)
